Car history: |
History: My best friends wife gave me this car shortly after he died in the fall of 2009. It had not been driven since the mid 80s but ran well when it was put into heated storage in my friends factory. The car was trailered a few miles last year to a heated mechanics garage in Rock Island, Illinois. I did register it in my name for insurance purposes but it is really a one owner car as my friend purchased it new from Mancuso Chevrolet in Chicago in August 1968. The paint was originally British Green but was repainted in the caramel color in the early seventies. Condition: The pictures were taken in 2010 and generally show the condition of the interior and body of the car. There is some minor body damage but I do not believe the car was involved in any accident. My friend was proud of the knock off wheels. They may be original Kelsey-Hayes wheels. Doug Reed, the mechanic, has advised me that the engine is not frozen but significant work on the brakes and fuel system will need to be done to get the car running again. It will also need a new battery and tires. I cannot guarantee anything about the condition of this car. Features: The original 350 horsepower 327 cubic inch engine, The original 4 speed close ration transmission, The original 3.70 positraction rear end, the original transistorized ignition, Power brakes, Tinted glass, Telescopic steering wheel, Spare parts as shown in the pictures, Original owners manual and warranty book with Protect-O-Plate. 54,734 miles from the odometer. April 2, 2012. |
